Microsoft Network Engineer

Microsoft technician providing remote and onsite technical support to our small and mid-sized business clients. Will have account management and retention responsibility for multiple clients, with an expectation to be viewed as client’s trusted IT advisor. Position requires travel around the Kern County area, as well as occasional after-hours work.

  • Perform systems administration and maintenance for virtual and physical Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 , SBS, Exchange, and all Windows desktop versions across multiple clients.
  • Maintain client security levels and confidentiality of information.
  • Input and manage tickets through our services automation system.
  • Partner with management, sales, and service engineers to identify opportunities of benefit clients.
  • Must have 4+ years sys admin experience; job level varies based upon years of exp.
  • Requires 4-year college degree or tech degree with an additional 2 years of solid work experience
  • Previous experience supporting multiple clients in an outsourced service industry is preferred
  • Previous experience using remote monitoring, ticketing and CRM systems highly desirable

Desktop Technician

Performs service, repair and/or installation of product(s) including system hardware, software, and associated peripherals. Provides technical support to customer base on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures, using established procedures. Determines most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime using a combination of personal knowledge, problem management databases, and help desk system.

  • Represents Carney’s in a professional and business-like manner and communicates effectively with customers and associates.
  • Interacts with customer responding to technical questions or request for information.
  • Processes timely and accurate information to ensure compliance with warranty requirements of vendors.
  • Maintains the highest level of customer satisfaction by resolving all tangible problems and concerns.
  • Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support. This includes service that exceeds response time, repair time, lack of parts, or any other issue that could impact customer satisfaction.
  • Performs basic computer hardware and software installations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
